About the event

Habitat Work Parties are hands-on volunteer events where community members help care for the habitats of the Mt. Pisgah area.

Depending on the season, volunteers may plant native species, remove invasive plants, maintain trails, collect seed, or support the native plant nursery. Staff provide guidance throughout the event and explain how each activity contributes to long-term ecosystem health.

No prior experience is required. Many volunteers attend their first work party without any background in plants or restoration — we teach everything you need to know on site.

Work parties are social, educational, and flexible. You can participate at your own pace, ask questions, and learn as much or as little as you’d like. Some people come once to try it, while others return regularly and build skills over time.

By joining a work party, you are directly helping protect habitat, support pollinators and wildlife, and care for a landscape enjoyed…
